Installation of Zipamini hub:
Step1: The first step in installing a controller is to set up a Zipato client account. Go to www.zipato.com web page and click on My Zipato and sign up by registering your email ID, password. Now sign in and you will be prompted to enter your device serial number which can be found on the casing as well as below the Zipamini controller. Once the serial number is recognised and the controller is registered with the Zipato central server the controller is ready for use. You may watch the Registering your Controller video also for setting up the Zipato controller.
Step2: Before any home automation sensor or device could be put to use it needs to be included into the Z wave Controller to enable communication with the Controller back and forth. Battery operated devices viz., motion sensors, door-window sensors, alarms, sirens etc may be added to the Controller without any external power supply. Read the instructions for inclusion provided in the instruction manual supplied with the device and follow the procedure. Once the device is added successfully a confirmation will be displayed on the screen. Now the device is ready to use.
Step3: In case of devices that work on mains power and are to be wired into the house electrical wiring such as the thermostat, in wall light On/Off and dimming systems these devices must be first “Included” to the home automation system. Following the wiring instructions supplied with the device connect to a 230 volts power outlet temporarily using a short length of wire and standard plug.
Step4: Open the Zipato browser interface, sign in and click on “Add new device”. If the device to be added is a Z wave device click on Z wave and the interface will initiate the Exclusion followed by the Inclusion process. The device to be added should be within 1 meter from the Controller for trouble free recognition and addition of the device.
Step5: If it is a battery powered device install new batteries and power up the device. If it is a mains powered device connect it to power using the temporary arrangement described in step3. Read the instructions for inclusion provided in the instruction manual supplied with the device and follow the procedure. Once the device is added successfully a confirmation will be displayed on the screen. Synchronise and Refresh every time a new device is included into the system .
Step6: Install the device at its intended location and switch on power supply if it is mains powered. Open the Zipato browser interface or the mobile App, tap on ‘Device Browser’ and locate the device you just added on the drop down menu on the left column. Tap on the device icon and check out the functionalities.
Step7: Repeat steps 4,5 & 6 above to add more devices. Synchronise and Refresh every time a new device is included into the system . Once all devices are included and tested your automated home is ready for use. You can now attempt to automate tasks by programming repetitive actions and setting up scenes.
